Sometimes we pretend that we buy a particular car for practical reasons. We say that we think of a car as an appliance or a line item in a household budget.

We saw the Cruze at the NAIAS. It's going to be a hit, IMHO

Yea but it will have the same problem the G6 and other GM cars has had, it has a GM badge.
I remember GM took the G6 to colleges and removed all the badges and told people it was a early Honda/Toyota/etc... prototype. When they did that it got great reviews. Same car was also taken to other places and either had its badges on and/or was told it was a Pontiac. People gave it mixed to negative reviews then.
GM has had a lot of great cars/trucks for a while now, but the image is hurt. Heck even the new saturn ads makes fun of people walking in and seeing the new cars and then wealking out to make sure they were at a Saturn dealership.

Yep, if its American, it will get a bad rep no matter how good of a car it is. It will be a long time until they can get off that rep.
I'm really sad to see the Viper go. ZR1??? Naw. GTR??? Naw. They perform the same if not better for similiar prices but none have the same feeling or rawness. Just you and the road with some wide ass tires that can never get traction. I got to ride in one but never drive one at a SRT event. Awesome car.

My Dad owned an old Corsica for a long time. Had over 200,000 miles and the engine still ran. The thing was just worn out. The seats were in bad shape and many other visual problems. My Mom had a Chevy Lumina, that thing ran like a champ too. I dad who is foreign loved Chevrolet. He bought a new 2000 Chevy Cavalier. The thing was a bust, the electronics broke over 3 times and the manuel transmission gave out in the end. My Dad decided to get a new at the time Honda Civic. How GM going to get my Dad back to their cars?
