Cars should have separate parking spaces

If I am pulling out of a parking spot and I have a mini van or truck or sport utility vehicle parked on either or both sides of my car I cannot see oncoming traffic. How am I supposed to back out carefully? Cars should have a separate parking area.

I know what you're talking about, though, and as the driver of a number of large vehicles (Minivan, cargo van, trucks, etc) I park at the very back of the lot out of courtesy. Even if it's raining.

All they would have to do is designate every other row for cars and every other row for trucks and vans and sport utility vehicles.

To get around this issue, you just need to get a bigger/taller vehicle than the rest. That seems to be the mentality for most drivers now.

Seriously, though, I do agree with you. It is quite hard to park and drive safely among very large vehicles.

Wouldn't work that way. Firstly, that tries to enforce a ratio of vehicle types, which is a bad idea in itself.
Second, do you see all those people parking in handicap spaces? Do you think ANYONE would adhere to vehicle restrictions?
Third, spacing is a big issue with large vehicles. This is another reason I park at the back of the lot.

Just park away from the entrance and all the fat people who wait 10 mins to find a parking spot near the entrance while eating chips in their SUV's/ trucks wont park their escalades and suburbans near your car.

Cheers for you and your courtesy!

the other problem is people speed through parking like maniacs.. if you see someone backing out and they looked like they are blinded by neighboring cars, just let them back out.

They kinda do. You may notice that some spots have a "compact" lable attached to them. That is not an accident, it is ment to discourage people with big cars parking in those spots.
