Wondering which carrier you should buy your iPhone on? There's a survey for that. ChangeWave Research has released the results of a poll that hit 4,068 users distributed across Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, and Sprint. Among those four, VZW came out ahead when it comes to dropped calls, with 1.4 percent of respondents indicating they'd received one in the past three months. AT&T, meanwhile, came in last with 4.6 percent. If you look only at the iPhone 4 users the numbers change a little, 1.8 percent vs. 4.8, but the conclusion stays the same. No, this conclusion sadly will not get you around your ETF, but maybe making a pouty face at the AT&T store will help.

Seems the same as what everybody thinks anyways. Not much different to what's already known.

I live in the greater Los Angeles area and I rarely experience a drop call or poor service. The only time I can think of when I have poor service is if I go to a lower level, like a basement, of a building. The one time I didn't have any service at all was when I had traveled to the Temecula area.

In my area, I've had the most problem with tmobile. Very often, I can't even dial out to someone. AT&T never gave me a problem but for my usage, they were too expensive.

AT&T???

I work in downtown LA and I know so many people that bought Verizon or Sprint Mifi devices because call/data connection was terrible. It's gotten infinitely better since AT&T has been supplementing their data coverage with Wifi hotpots all over the place but it's still behind even T-Mobile which is sad.

The only place i've had bad coverage with tmobile was in Middlesboro, Kentucky. No joke.

In OC i'm usually at 4-5 bars of HSPA+ 8 mbps down goodness everywhere when i'm outside.

word. i rarely drop calls. it was mainly certain dead zones before.

i probably have more "drops" now but they're most likely due to teh fact that the Droid is best held on a certain side of the face, and if you use your shoulder, the light sensor might not kick in, causing you to cheek-hangup a lot.

as a result I use speaker a lot or hands free in my car and honestly i can't remember the last time i had a dropped call.

not to many problems with ATT in Rochester, NY ... 3G coverage is pretty good except where I work (of course) and it kicks down to Edge. Cell service is fine at work, but data is horrible. The entire town is like a black fucking ATT hole. I can make and receive calls but MMS stops working (can't send, but can receive MMS). SMS messages are delayed often by over an hour and sending emails other than simple one or two liners is just as bad. Repeated calls to ATT have solved nothing. Funny thing is, everything was fine up until about 8 months ago. It was still Edge, but at least it worked. I keep getting the "it's a tower issue and we are working on it" .. yeah whatever.

I had full service with T-Mo all over Rochester, I only had an Edge phone at the time though.

Feh.

The dead zones I experience with AT&T/iPhone are similar to the dead zones I use to experience with Verizon. (Los Angeles.)

Also, BTW, of course, statistics cannot lie.
