Pliablemoose, I helped my daad set up his vacuum system. The vac is a cyclone type with a separate bag for dust and a drum for heavier stuff. Even includes a remote on/off switch. Obviously, not very inexpensive, but very cool. There are conversion systems for basic ShopVacs that will do the trick, but you may have blockage issues if your vac picks up larger pieces. That's where a cyclone system comes in handy.

Still, running all the ducts was a pain. Sheet metal is one of the worst jobs for someone with an aversion to bleeding.
