So i've had a deskjob for the past two years and my wrists are starting to hurt throughout the day, i'm pretty sure the problem is b/c my wrists are always at an upward angle instead of level/downward angle. Normally I wouldn't think too much about it but lately they have been hurting non-stop while at work. My chair doesn't go any higher and the way our cubicles are made I can't add any attachments for better wrist placement.

I really don't want to wear one of those horrible looking wrists braces, is that pretty much my only option? If I just ignore the pain while at work will I have any permanent damage arise?

Go to your doctor and find out if it really CTS, or maybe just some general joint pain. It's better to find out now and deal with it otherwise you are going to need surgery down the road.

Is the pain in your wrists only, or does it extend up your arm, or even into your neck? Do you ever experience numbness, or tingling?

You could talk to your boss, but you're much more likely to get somewhere with it if you bring in a note from your doctor explaining your problems.

Try not to be too confrontational about it, though. Last thing you want is to have your name come up when they are thinking about laying off some people. Hopefully you can deal with it if you get a better chair, better/more ergonomic keyboard, wrist pad, brace, or some combination of those things. Although that does depend on what your doctor says.

It's in my wrist/forearm... it feels really tight and throbs. It subsides during lunch and when I go home but during the day it's starting to hurt more. Actually it's only my right wrists, my left wrist rarely hurts... I guess that's b/c I only use it for typing and my right hand is always on the mouse.

I would go see the DR to find out either way.
