Most people are off dial-up and just don't think about resizing images. You can't really expect the majority to cater to the minority, even if it might benefit everyone.

While I do agree that Ornery is usually quite ornery, the man actually has a point now.
While it doesn't matter for the end user, if everyone started putting up half meg pictures the bandwidth bill would shoot through the roof.

So please everyone, for the sake of everyone else, resize your images and don't be such a douche.


But more more to the point, where the hell can I get me some of that?

pics is doing fine. Limiting themselves to a dozen or so referrers ensures they won't get bandwidth-raped. Hell, they don't even take donations.
