Dunno about you guys but I played the hell out of the first couple of games, so I'm glad it's back in business. Just as long as they don't come up with anything like the PS/N64 abominations.

Probably the only game ever that's given me the butterflies IRL. Using the afterburner to hurtle off a building and not taking into account the oncoming cliffside sorta triggers that in you.

I also have a sudden urge to watch Death Race 2000...
 
Does anyone know if the Carmageddon series is sold through any of the digital stores like Steam? This thread makes me want to play again.
 
Oh man I had such a blast with Carmageddon 2. I just hope they do this game justice. . . imagine what they could do with say the GTA 4 engine, and of course a soundtrack by Iron Maiden
 
Rutro I didn't notice square enix. Currently that is a bad omen, see Sup Com 2, final fantasy 13 & 14. They seem to have lost the passion for games.
 
it better be good. carmageddon 2 is still the best "racing" game ever on pc. its a damn shame you cant play it unless you have win95.....

they made another carmageddon movie too, its the same as the first death race movie, but with a bigger budget, bigger actors. still though, its a b list movie and i dont really think its that much better then the first death race.

btw, i didnt like the tdr2000 game at all.. i thought they ruined the physics and damage modeling in that game...
 
Was watching DR a couple weeks ago and remembered this game. We used to have a blast with this during lan parties. Best was when a friend of mine used a repeller on me to put me into a light pole, splitting my car in half.
 
awesome. i have been looking every couple years to see if there was any news for a new one. i played the crap out of the first one and still have the discs at home somewhere.

I noticed that gog.com have made quite a few older games playable with even windows 7 so maybe there is a chance that they could get carmageddon 2 working with windows 7 or atleast windows xp

You can play it on XP for sure. You need to get a modified executable. There's also patch you need in order to run at high res. Haven't played it on Win 7 but I don't see why you couldn't.

interesting; you are saying the guys that actually created the original 2 games are doing a cheap knock off their games with this one.....*ponders that paradox*
