Carmack in space!

i find it funny that wealthy guys wanting to take the ultimate flight are working on affordable space travel harder than nasa/boeing/lockheed

Yeah, there's a really good article in the latest PopSci too, describing different teams and their methods, along with explaining the X Prize...a reason that they give as to why the major corporations aren't battling to develop private space entry. Good stuff.

Many Universities and personal parties have entered the comp.. can't remember the name.. argh, I hope he wins! Carmack rocks. 🙂

NASA's scope is a bit larger than just making affordable space flight...which is part of the problem.

As for the X-Prize, Burt Rutan's Scaled Composites seems to have the best chance of winning that.
