I have a Vue with manufacture provided roof rack. I'd like to get one of those carfo containers to mount on it for some trips we take.

What do I need to know before trying to buy one of them?
 
Does your Vue have the cross bars for the roof rack? My Subaru also had the rack, but I needed to buy the cross bars before I could mount my bike rack. Otherwise, just make sure you get a cargo carrier that is recommended for your Vue and remember that when you have it mounted your gas mileage will suffer BIG TIME.
 
I use one occasionally, but I have a soft top one. You have to pack it full or it will flap in the wind but it fits in the back of the van when we don't need it.

I would think about how you're going to store it when it's not on. Also, look at how it will lock up. You don't want something that somebody can just pop into when you're not looking.
