I don't buy it. I simply don't believe your entire version of the story, unless every one of your friends is retarded. Look at the reaction in this thread - EVERYONE knows you don't leave a vehicle after an accident. How the hell did you even pass the test to get a permit if you didn't know something like that? That's one of the most basic pieces of knowledge about owning a car. And, even if you didn't know, certainly you would have mentioned it to someone who would have said "dude, they'll ticket you with leaving the scene of an accident. You need to go back there and call a tow-truck." Did you simply not mention to your friends that you wrecked your car on the way over and left it in a ditch??

I can think of only one reason why you wouldn't have returned to the vehicle to get it out that night... And, come on... "late friday night, early saturday."

I'm absolutely amazed that the officer didn't give you both tickets - careless driving AND leaving the scene of an accident.

Or if it's late, you're tired and don't want to mess with it while it's raining.

Sorry, but sometimes when you do things like CRASH YOUR CAR you have to suck it up and take care of it. It's called being a responsible adult.

Yeah, fuck it. Let someone else deal with it in the dark and the rain.

Well, someone else did deal with it.

So don't complain.

I've hydroplaned on a highway and the vehicle veered straight into the opposing traffic, car sliding slideways in the process after launching out the middle ditch. Saw my life literally flash before me when the cars in the other lane were coming towards my direction.

First thing I did when I got out of the car was to call the cops, however someone else already did that for me while I was trying to get out with the driver's door facing the ground.
Be reasonable and be responsible and don't put the blame on Subaru or its tires. Slow the eff down in the rain. Cars can be replaced, but people can't.
