Go to Universal technical institute in pheonix .....Before you knock the tech school, check this one out. It's different. Modern modern modern equipment, partners with major auto companies (ford audi bmw jag etc etc)
I take the course in Specialties Customs and restorations get the technical masters. Either go to work for someone at a custom shop ( not sure I want to do that) or work at a dealership for a bit and raise some startup cash(and maybe a loan) for my own shop and start small. benefeits are Cars and engines are my life right now. I could do it till I die no problem. And im good a planning projects

or

Become a firefighter. Benefeits are I get a real retirement etc etc. Go to UofA for fire sciences and then volunteer for a bit then get a job at a full time station (I dont think there are any in tucson... what do I do about that?? Its either tucson or southeast michigan for me. And possibly open a small greasy custom shop for the weekends and the firefighter's hours 24 on 48 off usually.

Its time that I make some real decisions and I want to make them before its too late. Please help ATOT

1. Smoke some salvia
2. Lie down on your comfy bed
3. Answer will come

Probably if you're passionate about the engine work then that's what you should do. You'll always regret not going to that tech school when you're slinding on pole all day.

Well, becoming a fire-fighter is more of a calling. You either feel it in you to do that sort of thing or you don't. If you have any doubts about it, I'd skip that option and go with the safe choice of working on cars.

Well I am a big fire bug too, and understand alot of fire physics, how things burn, burning properties etc.

More opinions.

I recommend getting as much training as you can afford. In the long run, five to ten years, it will pay.

Then make some really fast, sporty ones. Dude, you need to think outside the box...... GAWD I hated myself for saying that.

I'm assuming that your name here has something to do with ... um .. well, you know. Anyway, does it concern you that getting into the fire department might require a polygraph test?

I went to Phoenix Institute of Technolgy* and was an ASE Master certified auto mechanic for over 10 years... I was absolutely miserable.

Having a job that you enjoy is one of the most important keys to being happy.

* PIT has since vanished, but it was similar to UTI

I haven't heard of polygraphing FFs either, but it's not just FBI/CIA. I had to take one.

Oh, and the CIA will do several polys, which are seriously intense.
