Sounds like Supraventricular Tachycardia, does it go away when you lay down?
I'm sorry to jump in and try steal a little but of thunder here, but I'd just like to add I've had similar sumptoms for years. I don't know about you guys but I HAVE to lay on my left side in order to sleep; otherwise I have this pressure on my heart (or a at least a sensation in the region that FEELS like my heart) in nay other position. I once had such chest pressure that I actually took myself to the emergency room uninsured; scared the living hell out of me. Couldn't breathe, and I had this enormous sense of anxiety and confusion almost. Anyhow, the guy saw nothing and thought I might want to see a cardiologist if I wanted too... It's hard to stomache apathy when you feel like your life may be on the line, regardless of melodrama. So I blew it off and deal with regular palpatations (arythmia, can't remember the term. I think palpate means somehting totally different) for a couple about a year folowing. Then I went to basic training.
HOLY PISS, a couple of days into and I thought my heart was going to explode in my chest when I lay in the bunk at night. Similar experiences to what led me to the ER the first time around. The good news is that despite how horrible it felt and how frightening it was (yes I'm a grown man and I said frightening

) I got through the expeirnce just fine, as you may have guessed with my adding to the conversation here and all.
THe reason I wrote this is, despite the fact that I know you literally feel like you're dying, and who knows you might be, as young as we are we're still relatively resilient. Death is not an issue yet, though we may or may not be shaving years off our life in the long run; who knows. I know for me, regular cardiovascular exercise helps ALOT (it may really hurt at first), plenty of rest helps ALOT, caffeine is BAD, etc... Good luck with your issues though, I'll be keeping an eye on this thread.
