Last year I started on blood pressure meds due to an incident where I had double vision along with extremely high blood pressure. At the time I had to have a cerebral angiogram along with multiple MRIs and CAT scans to make sure I wasn't having a stroke or aneurysm (thankfully negative on both counts, there is no impediment to blood flow in my brain). Blood pressure at the time was ~213/135.
Fast forward one year, where I've been regularly taking Benicar + Bystolic + Crestor once per day. Blood pressure ~125/95, but I have no ability to do cardio whatsoever. About a month and a half ago I decided to get serious and have been going to the gym about 5 times per week (and I'm finding I'm getting addicted to exercise and healthy food), and I've noticed that my blood pressure has dropped: At a random time to day it was 107/71. However, earlier today I went for a one hour bike ride and checked immediately following that and it was ~89/62 (it slowly crept back up after that).
I have noticed that since starting the gym back up I've been getting periodic lightheadedness when standing up after a period of sitting down. It sounds like the exercise has been having a great effect, but it looks like I need to talk to the doctor about modifying my blood pressure med prescription
Anyway, there's really no point to this post other than to ask if anyone else here has been monitoring their blood pressure, and if you've been noticing similar effects.
