My SIIG Firewire 2-Port CardBus PC Card refuses to work with Windows 2000. The system will not recognize the card. The SIIG web page says that this is a "known issue" with Windows 2000 and they have no fix!! Very helpful of SIIG to put out a product that they know doesn't work. Anywho, if someone has come up with a fix for this I would very much appreciate it.

Seems to me, that is more of a Windows 2000 problem than a SIIG problem. W2K is notoriously hardware unfriendly. If you had XP Pro, you would not have that problem. I will search for a fix as well - would be useful to have.

By the way - have you investigated this fix?

I hear what you're saying, but it does say on the box that is compatable with all versions of Windows 98 and later. I tried updating my Micron laptop to XP Pro, but it keeps freezing up when it tried to boot up XP at the end of the installation. Right now I'm between a rock and a hard place! Appreciate your interest and hope you find some info.

Yes, that is what the SIIG device is advertised as - it even specifically cites W2K. The failed XP installation (boot) suggests that there is something basically wrong in your Win2000 system. This has some related points - Microsoft KB:

How old is the Micron notebook? It suggests that the Micron's BIOS must support 1394, or SOL!

The Micron Transport ZX is two years old. It's a Pentium III 650MHz. I am assuming that the BIOS supports 1394 as the card works fine in Windows ME. I'm going to keep trying to get XP loaded as I think that's my best bet.
