Car Window Replacement

Last night my Driver-side rear window was shot out.

Apparantly I won some sort of neighborhood contest.

I went to the garage next door and he said he's gotten a bunch of calls about windows getting shot out all over the place.

Now, since I'm a po' boy, and it's a beat up 91 Jeep Cherokee, I'm going to the junkyard to get a new window.

Safelite said they could have a truck out at my house today and replace it brand new for 250.

Or, I could go to the junkyard and get a new window for 30 bucks and do it myself.

So the po' boy's gotta do what he's gotta do.

I've never done it, I've also heard it sucks.

Any tips on replacing car windows?

Thanks though, I would have over looked that.

Ok, back.

The whole neighborhood got it. On a quick survey, just taking the main route home I counted 15 cars.

Anyways, I got the window at the junk yard, pulled and polished for 40 bucks. Plus the dude showed me how to put it in.

Now I can put the 210 I saved into everything else that's falling apart. wooh

No. I'm a po' boy!

All I have is liability.

My insurance only covers other drivers etc. hah!

Last night I went to go out and I felt my Jeep drop, and it sounded like it was grinding metal and stones together.

I just got off the phone with my mechanic and I found out I have to drop about 300 (parts and labor) for a new rear left side brake drum, pads and a U-Joint I believe he said.

Apparantly I've "grinded the whole back end to sh!t, WTF's a matter with you?"

Your Jeep the v8? or the six. From I hear, either one, if taken care of, will last a very long time. Just a little pricey to fix.

Straight-Six

Yea I do.

I'm pushing about 220+K right now though.

It's amazing what moderate maintenance can do.

Trust me, I'm gonna ride it 'till the wheels fall off.

Follow-up for the thousands waiting for the results.

4 Hours - Time (Including finding a new window, dismantling door, installation, clean up etc. )

$40 - One window.

4 hours and 40 bucks later I save atleast 160 assuming replacing a window averages 200 dollars.

Overall, it was extremely easy and cheap to just do it myself.

if you were really a po boy, a sheet of clear plastic and duct tape would be your answer

If I was really a po' boy, they would have shot out my clear plastic window and not my glass window in the first place.
