Ok, the stock powertrain warranty is about to end, as I am going to hit 70K miles this week. When I purchased the car, I did buy an extended warranty that covers nearly everything, and this will take me to nearly 100K miles, with only a $50 deductable.

I was wondering if there is anything I should before my stock warranty ends. Can I make an appointment with the dealer to have them give it a 'once over' in the hopes to find something that might go wrong? Would they even do this? Or should I just drive on and not worry about it?

Thanks! PS, it is a Lexus GS400 if that makes any difference.

Rather than a dealer I would just have a mechanic that I trust to go over it, and make sure nothing was going to blow out on you anytime soon.

1) What year Lexus is it?
2) Have you had any significant mechanical/electrical problems to date?
3) Will you adopt me?

:p

It is a '98, first year of the new look.

No major problems at all, just a rattle in the sunroof fixed a year ago.

Doubtful. :)

You know? I don't remember how much the warranty was. I think it was something around $1200 bucks. Not cheap, but one repair on an expensive care can be much more then that. It really was for piece of mind more then anything else.

I just called the local dealer and they gave me a price of $80 to hook up the computer and check it out. Anything found would be fixed under warranty, if they find anything...

Now I'm thinking I could just have my local garage do it, or just forget it totally...
