Neighbor made me an offer I cant (shouldnt) refuse for the 93 Trans Am Seen Here

Now my problem (everybody should have a problem as bad as this one) is what to buy to replace it.

Dont want to spend much over 30K and the field so far:

Another T/A (leading)
Camaro Z-28 SS
Grand Prix GTP Coupe (Supercharged but only automatic available)
or?

Really like muscle cars and not many left or soon to be un available. Prefer 6 speed and V-8 but maybe my mind could be changed.

Lets leave out gas mileage, insurance costs and so on.

Your help or suggestions?

Get another f-body: Firehawk, WS6, or SS. Once you are used to the torque, you won't be satisfied with anything else. :D

The 350Z was on my list but I cant wait until it comes out. Great suggestion.

Iknow, I know especially after several other HP GM cars, Corvettes and Trans Ams.

Personally, I like the looks of the Camaro better than the current Firebird, so of the cars listed there, I'd reccommend that. Still, if you can put up with it, you can get a really nice 60's Camaro or Chevelle for $30,000. Then again, I have a self-destructive habit of being drawn to older vehicles.

If you want the best horsepower/dollars spent you won't go wrong with an F-Body. One of my favorite cars that I owned was a 1984 Trans-am. But......there are cars out there that put them to shame. Too bad you want to stick to muscle cars. Bmw 3-Series is a well refined car and corners are beautiful.

You know, you can get a late '90s 'Vette for less than $30k.

Or, mid-60's 'Vette is my favorite for that $. :D

I like Zenmervolt's idea of picking up an older muscle car the best. :)

Out of your short list, TBM, I'd pick the Camaro.

Also, if you wanted to go a little more luxury and less power, you could look at the Audi A4, Acura CL-S & TL-S, and BMW 3 series.

Not to insult anybody but I had a Camaro ordered in 93 and it didnt come in for months. Then I saw the T/A and was much more impressed. If I had gotten the Camaro then I could "Step up" to a T/A now but now going the other way bothers me a little. Just me personally. The SS is sweet.

As for getting an older car, been there, done that many times and just am burnt out. Really the right way to go though. As for Corvettes, well, after the 7th one I swore Id never waste the money and have the aggravation again.

I agree. Love the 330Ci.

Let's not turn into another you vs. me thread.

The best way to deal with a flamer is to ignor him.:disgust:

From what you've listed, I would say go with an fbody. As you said, there just aren't many cars out there right now that fulfill your requirements. The only other (obvious) competitor in this field is the Mustang GT, but I am assuming you have already ruled this out as you did not mention it.

After that, you either have to spend alot more money (e.g. 'Vette, BMW's M cars), have a V6 with less horsepower (e.g. Dodge Stratus R/T coupe, Mitsubishi Eclipse GT), a truck (e.g. Ford Lightning), or maybe a sedan (e.g. Chrysler 300M, Acura TL-S etc.).

It sounds like you have enjoyed your Firebird enough to buy another one, though. Go with it! :)

LMAO! Far from it. You are 10x more likely to see a huge, jacked up truck, with tires bigger than yourself than to see a ricer.

No, I havent. Am planning to look at one even though I am not a Ford man. Pretty cars.

F-Body. There's nothing like it.

The GP-GTP is out classed by certain cars made by a company that starts and ends with "N" and has "SS" in the middle.

I just am not drawn to anything that is american an claims to have muscle. They just don't seem appealing, especially GM (with the exception of the Z06). Sorry, just not my taste visually.

Leaving out "Visuals" that are a personal preference anyway, how would you define muscle and what do you drive?

If you are speaking about true muscle, not european finesse :p, then I'd have to say I'd go with a vintage 'stang (67 fastbacks are nice) or charger. But then again, I enjoy classic styles :)
