thanks for the info everybody.... i don't recall doing the 30k mile service, so i doubt I've ever had the transmission serviced before...

Guess i'll find out more on tuesday.

However, a 2 year old car with 60K miles on it is way over mileage, so that's going to hurt you.

Well I think we owe a bit less than I think I can get for it (Good @ KBB), so if we can get out even i'll be happy...

If I were to jump in your car and drive it around the block, would I notice the problem?

If not... sell your car to carmax and buy another car.

No, only if its been sitting for awhile... If its been driven for over 10 minutes or so within the last 2-3 hours, its not nearly as noticable as when cold (from overnight).

You keep telling yourself that buddy. Where do SMGs fit into your little hierarchy, btw?

OP: The fact that it gets better after the car warms up makes me think it is a fluid problem, probably wouldn't hurt to have it panned/fluid changed. I say probably because it can sometimes make problems worse. However, it might be worth a try and it is usually a pretty cheap procedure. (The filters can get a little expensive sometimes)
