Sympathies... I have had to repair Not one, but two scratches on my 2015 mustang already. Someone put a 5 inch scratch on the rear bumper in march. Then two freaking days after I got it back from being repaired a bit or road debris got caught in right rear tire, punctured the sidewall and scraped the crap out of the fender. I was sad. All fixed now, but still....

What would you guys recommend for something deeper? I found 5-6 small marks on the back of my trunk up high under the lip of the top. It would be like how a small sharp rock would hit the front bumper/hood after being kicked up by a car in front of you on a freeway. They are deep and changed the texture of the paint and scratched some off. Pretty sad about it with the car being less than a year old and babied. It's like someone took a key and pressed it up against the paint and dug in.

If it's dug deep enough past the paint, then you'll have to use touch up paint from the dealer. Do not use the included brush. Use a toothpick. Dab the tiniest of a drop on it, use another toothpick to soak it up that drop and let capillary action soak it into the scratch.

Let it dry a day then wax it. Leave it like that for 1 month. If you try and use polish to scuff off the edge to make it look good you'll take your touched up paint right off. Touch up paint needs weeks to really stick. It won't be until after that you can then use polish to scuff off the edges and make it look decent.

Dr. Colorchip. Work wonders for my Mazda 6 which is not even half a year old but gets dinged by rock chips all the time commuting to and from work.

this works if the scratch is wide and deep enough to hold paint. i've got some caused by the automatic carwash that are through the paint to the primer, but dr. colorchip would not stay in them. works pretty well on rock chips though.
