Car Radio Installation

I've been researching alot on getting a new radio in my car, but I can't seem to find an answer regarding the wireless key entry. Anyone know if i remove the stock radio and put in a new one, will it disable my wireless key entry? I know I need a special wiring harness, but all it says is that will allow me to have my warning beeps.

If anyone has replaced their stock radio on a GM car, and can lend some advice it would be appreciated.

thanks.

Some sites say you must reposition the old radio somewhere in the car, because if you completely remove it, it might remove some of the functionality. I just hope the functionality that is remove is only the chime noise but the keyless entry.

recent GM radios get their turn on signal via class II data instead of a 12V line. also sometimes there is no dedicated chime and it is run through the radio, also received by class II. the proper way to go about doing it is to get a proper wiring harness with a class II data interpreter and chime built in.
