okay
well
I live in a small town, and a trip to the store for some Coke or Aspirin (I don't have any here) is useless when you got nice neighbors :) I just have to wait for them to arrive from work hehehe

I didn't clean it off, in a different city right now...

depends on what's corroding them... if it's battery acid (or any type of acid), u can use baking soda... wait till it bubbles and wipe off... also look at the cables, not just the terminals...

why don't you borrow a battery from another car to see if that's the problem?

Personally I hate pouring soda and other assorted pastes and tonics on my battery when there is a good chance I'm going to be taking it out soon. I don't particularly like getting all sticky and nasty. My advice is have a friend take you to walmart, get a battery terminal cleaner brush. Its like $2 and is a stiff metal brush that will clean everything up.

Anyway my bet is a dead battery. I've had good luck with interstate brand if you can find them.

hope its the battery.. if it was the alternator.. it prolly killed the battery too.

Alternators are a b**tch to change.. most cars have them hidden away and you can't get to them easily... so there will be a labor costs involved.
