Car people: Question about tire pressure....

As a general rule of thumb, 32 PSI will be safe in almost any passenger car tire.

I typically run 5 PSI over recommendation in front and 2 PSI over recommendation in the rear. This gives me a little more oversteer and makes the car a little more "twitchy" than normal, but that's how I like it.

Run the recommended pressures from the sticker and make adjustments from there.

My new tires state 44 PSI and the label on the door panel states 32. The tires always look low with 32 so I put 40 PSI.

When I was younger, I always put the max PSI as per the tire and they always wore even with a comfy ride. As far as safety, I it never gave me trouble and I live in Africa hot weather.

The tire is max pressure it can withstand...

Mine has a different pressure for "high speed / fully loaded" as to normal driving. I normally have it somewhere in between.

I never went over the max PSI. And I'm sure the max rating has a safety buffer.

Well the tires say 44 max and the numbers in the door jam say 30. I'll try it at 35 for awhile...
