Car mp3 cd players

Anybody have a car mp3 cd player? Any recommendations? I'm going to be getting one soon and just want to hear some peoples oppinions on what's out there.

I have the Pioneer DEH-P7300 which is just a regular CD player.
But I know that Pioneer just came out with the DEH-P7400MP which is a CD/MP3 player and if it's anywhere as good as their regular cd players, you won't be disappointed.

There was a deal in HD a couple weeks back for it for around $235 shipped.

I have the Aiwa one 🙁 rushed into it.. it was really the only affordable one that was out at the time and i'm not happy with it at all.. as well as pretty much everyone else who bought one. I visit audio forums on a regular basis.. and most people tend to agree that JVC has a killer mp3 deck for a great price.. I would look into that. Stay away from the Sony and the Aiwa... there are other higher priced ones like the Rockford Fosgate and Alpine as well which are good, but suposedly the JVC is suppose to be the best bang for the buck.

i believe aiwa has one, they were one of the first companies to make one, and kenwood has one out already.

i think theyre still a tad bit pricey in the 270-400 dollar range. i dont know, not for sure though.

try ebay.

Theres a website out there (sorry don't remember the addy) that covers all the car mp3 players. Do a search on google and you should turn it up.

EDIT: well I just did a quick search and couldn't find it. Maybe another forum user knows it.

One problem the car mp3 players have is poor resume features. Many of them don't have resume at all and the rest pretty much stop at resume at song, not where you were in the song.

This website tells you which does what.

Kenwood is already on their third generation car mp3 players, here is the lineup thats gonna be out in the spring Link

whatever you do, just dont get any aiwa or sony decks, those things got really bad reviews for their skipping problems.

the name brand i would choose from based on the reviews are: kenwood, pioneer, alpine and jvc

goto this site for reviews on mp3 card decks Link

I have the jvc sh99 and it rocks. Have had it for 6 months and it has never skipped a beat.
Got it for 280 bucks over the internet. Search the forum on highwaymp3.com for latest prices and deals. This is one of the few that will actually resume the song in the middle after you kill the engine and restart. Very important if you plan to listen to audio books converted to mp3's.

why not build one ?

say hook up a

duron 1ghz
128mb ram
mobo
dvd-rom
60gb hd
5 inch lcd

if you have used computer that's just sitting around...
you can totally pull this off without spending a fortune.

you'd be able to watch dvd as well.
i'd build one for my car... but currently i'm busy with other projects.
when i do take on this project, i'd definately include gps module.

another vote for the JVC KD-SH99...had it for over 6 months and it is just awesome...has optional DVD controls, aux in, 200 watts x4, etc....i wanted the best bang for the buck and i chose the JVC

My Sony remembers exactly where it was. Plays most anything I've thrown at it. But, I will say this, organize your songs into folders and it will be easier on the player. I just wish it loaded a little more quickly but I can deal with it.

I always see people badmouthing the Aiwa so I guess I must have gotten lucky because I've never had a problem with it in the nearly 2 years I've owned it. I may get the JVC later when the price drops a little more just to have something a little more up to date.

I have the blaupunkt San jose.
I did not want to buy a blau"junk" but the features and price made me do it.
For $300 I got a nice detach face that flips down for cd insertion, remote control, changer control, CD, mp3 and WMA file support, CD directory support, even FF through mp3 and pause for mp3, those are hard features to come by, at least when i got it for Xmas.
Good luck!
oh ya and id tag support, sweet....
