Similar to standard "wall wart" AC to DC power adapters except those usually only provide less than 1 amp. Is there something similar that you can use to start a car? Like a 12 volt DC power supply that can provide hundreds of amps. I've seen some that contain their own battery that you can jump your car off but theyre around 100 dollars. I never saw just a simple one that you can go straight from the wall to your cars battery. For instance if your battery died in the driveway and theres no cars to jump off of but you have a wall socket 10 feet away.

Yes, many battery chargers have a start function. They will be a bit larger than a wall wart, though...I have a Schumacher that also has a 100A start setting, and it has worked well. It's the size of a typical car battery charger.
