Car insurance repair question... now with pic!

Wife got hit by a deer a few weeks back. Called insurance company, paid deductible and took car in to get fixed at a Toyata dealership (Scion TC car). The front fender on the right side was all busted up, surely needed to be replaced. Got the car back and it looks nice, except one small problem. The new fender they put on... there is a fucking circle probably a good food in diameter on the middle/rightish side of the fender. It looks like someone cut out circle out of the fender and then replaced it with a circular fender piece. Wish I had pics to show you right now but my wife isn't home with the car.


Question is, is this at all normal? Should I call insurance company and tell them the repairs aren't up to our standards? I'm not really to sure what to make of this. The car looks fine I guess, it just looks freaking weird.

LOL @ your wife got hit by deer.

If the deer hit her, why did she pay the deductible? I would get representation ASAP.

Nah that's not it. It's the fender... it just looks like someone cut the piece out and put it back in. So you can see a circular cutout area around the piece.
 
maybe the fender you now have was taken from a same-model car that had the parking ultrasonic sensors optional (those things that go bleep bleep faster if you're closer).

Heh, unfortunately I've been told I cannot provide that. She reads this forum from time to time... I don't think it'd be wise to try to sneak one in.
 
I don't know about you, but every time I've picked up a repaired car, I've looked at what was done - usually with someone from the repair shop - at which point I would have screamed "Holy ***t, do you see that? There's a big circle cut out of the bumper!"

How did this escape you? Why don't you ask them what it is and why it's there? Is it actually 12" in diameter or just a food? 🙂
 
That looks like the cutout for the tow hook, just like ravana posted a picture of earlier ... and that isn't the fender, that is the bumper cover.

I didn't pick it up my wife did and it was late at night. She was in a hurry to pick it up cause they were closing and I'm sure it was dark.
