Car GPS Navigation via PDA + Belkin GPS Unit = Useless?

Ok, I'll admit, I'm pretty much a newbie when it comes to this.

I had a Dell Axim X5 Advanced Pocket PC laying around since last year. I decided to make it useful by getting a Belkin GPS Bluetooth receiver. I also got a Compact Flash Belkin Bluetooth adapter for my Axim so they can communicate. Finally, I got an Smart Digital card to store extra maps.

So what's the problem? Everything seems to be working, but the LAG the Navigation software creates makes it useless. I have to wait a while when I click on anything. Once I open up the Navigation software on my PDA the lag boss breaks loose and makes me wait on even the simplest command. Is this the norm? Or could it be something else?

my opionion is that it is the norm. PocketPC's dont function as fast as regualr computers cause they have a slower CPU. So they also function slower to save battery life.

my opinion is all.

what nav program?

make sure you are closing all the other programs in the background....unlike regular windows, on pocket pcs the 'x' in the corner doesn't actually close the program...it puts it in the background. You might have a game or multimedia prog running.

shutdown everything and run the nav, or do a soft reset first.
