Why are people so cheap?

For a few bucks, you can check on the history of any car, something you'll spend thousands, if not tens of thousands to buy...

And you don't want to fork over $20?

You get what you deserve...

that's odd...
i'm not telling you to send me your own VIN,
you should know your own history anyway.
For those ppl looking for used car, I dont see any harm in that.
well, that's fine, i'm NOT holding a gun to your face or anything
no need to flame ;)

Admin, lock if this is now allowed :)

You're violating the CarFax TOS dumbass. Hence the flames.

Bingo, but people don't seem to feel the rules apply to them. :(

Even if AnandTech allowed it, Car Fax doesn't, and you agreed to the Car Fax terms when you signed up.

Thus, you can't do this anywhere, much less here.

If one is looking at a number of used cars, $20.00 is about the best money you'll ever spend. When I was searching for a vehicle, I ran at least 20 CarFax reports. An average of $1.00 per report is not bad ... not bad at all.

There has been a debate on whether or not it actually violates the Carfax TOS.

Debate all you want, the only way to know for sure is to give Car Fax a call and ask them.

I'll bet you $5 that they say no, you can't do this. :)

The point of the $20 unlimited deal is to allow one person who is looking for one car to do searches. Not for one person who has 50 friends all looking for cars to do searches.
