anyone fully understand the window lock button? i usually can figure out how stuff like that is working, but i only see 1 wire running out of the "window lock" switch. my intent is to disable the ability to lock the windows. if that cable is plugged in and you turn the switch to "lock", they lock. if i unplug that wire, none of the windows work at all.

what the heck

anyone know? or know any place where i can look?

thanks
david

That wire to the lock switch is the ground for the entire window system. the power goes to all the windows, then the grounds go to that wire that you are unhooking. the switch body provides the ground. Measure the voltage between that wire and ground; both when trying to move the windows and not trying to move the windows. if the voltage stays at zero volts, then you should be able to connect that wire to ground and then your window locks would be bypassed. If the voltage jumps to anything over 0v then I am wrong and would need a tech manual on your car 🙂

I am not responsable for any damage done to your car 🙂
