I dont know if its me but I am getting pretty aggravated with Meguiars NXT tech wax paste. After a week or so the water beading effect is usually gone and I am left with water spots all over my car. I dont know if its because I have a black car (which I know is hard to keep clean) or its just that the wax is just not lasting as long as it should. I did do some research and came across this wax in a can called "speed bead" "bead max" by a company called stoner. Has anybody heard of this company or this product? or can someone recommend me a goooood wax that wont leave me detailing my car in the middle of the week just to get the water spots out.

Thanks in advance.

I use Meguiars yellow liquid wax.

What are you washing your car with? If you are using dish soap that will strip the wax right off your paint. You should be using a mild car wash soap.

Direct your browser to www.griotsgarage.com and enjoy.
Been using their products for over 8 years and run a small detail shop as well, great products ans all work well as a system, easy clean too.
Do yourself a favor and buy yourself a Porter Cable random orbital. Best thing you will ever do for your car

A lot of the responses that you have been getting are great. I have tried Meguiars and the clay bar and was very disappointed by both. I tried a LOT of different crap and then stumbled across this at a Discount Auto store:

Astroshield

It says on the can that it is for cars and airplanes (The US Air Force apparently uses it). I tried it and was VERY happy. It's use is simplicity itself:

1 - Wash car with Dawn dishwashing liquid to remove all the crap on your paint down to the top level of your clearcoat.

2 - Dry your car.

3 - Apply Astroshield with a lint free cloth using a small, circular motion. You can do the whole car or just a part as you see fit.

4 - After hazing, polish the car with another lint free cloth.

That is it. No clay bars or multi-step processes like Meguiars. It just works and works well.

Good luck.

That's because it's a synthetic wax and is NOT designed to bead water. It does bead water a bit when it's new but it stops fairly quickly. The wax does actually last quite a long time, it just doesn't bead water. If you want water to bead, you should use a carnauba wax. For more info look here

I've heard NXT is pretty good actually. But preperation is key to wax longevity... you put wax on a crappy base, no point almost (IMO..)

I will nth the klasse twins. prewash, clay, wash, all-in-one klasse (2 thin coats to cover), wait 12-24hrs (synthethic likes to cure), dust/maybe use proper quick detail, coat of sealant glaze... repeat last two steps until your arm goes numb 🙂 AND THEN, add a layer of carnauba for a kick 😉 I actually haven't done the last step because I quick detail it/quick wash it every week sorta, and my stuff is all for synthetic wax.

Of course, if you need to polish and stuff, gotta throw that in there before the waxing. And unfortunately, winter is rough on the car, so the above I do eveyr 6 months (before/after winter) and just keep the car as clean as possible otherwise.

If you have the money and a garage, zanio sounds like fun too 🙂 If you can tell, I really do enjoy doing this for my car (and only my car, all my friends can do their own)

What do you use? I'm going to give this Klasse stuff a try.

THanks for all the heads up guys.

I wash the car with meguair gold car wash stuff... i only use dishwasher (dawn) if I need to strip away the old wax and start from scratch... i've allready clay bar like 2 weeks ago before putting on a layer of meguiar nxt tech wax paste.... I was thinking about carnuba but i've read that carnuba doesnt last as long as synth polymer and I really dont want to be washing my car my whole life... =\.. I will try all that has been listed and I will determine what works for me best. Thank you all for the great advice!

Jorge

edit: Basically I am just tired of the the water/dirt spots that form after it rains and then tries up on my car...

wow... ti says you can put 5 layers of this stuff.. how in the h3ll do you do that? put 1 coat wait a couple hours.... put another... and on and on you go?

I think you're supposed to wait 24 hours between coats

good lord..... as much as I like to keep the ride clean... I still live in an apartment and its hard to haul around all the washing/detailing supplies... so Im trying to get my car looking good efficiently...... Dont really want to spend all weekend washing/detailing the car since I am very active bachelor on weekends.... =)

then you suck 😛 heh, just spend one weekend to get two coats on (AIO first, then SG). And continue to add a layer every month or so.. assuming it doesn't get TOO dirty between those times, or else you'd be trapping crap in.

I use klasse for the wax, and sonus for my quick detailing needs. I generally shop from autopia, even if a hair more expensive than some places. I'm contemplating getting some poorboys wax so I have it looking real nice for pictures... but need something later to only strip the carnauba wax.

If you use Zaino, you can use their ZFX Flash Cure Accelerator Additive product. Curing time goes down to 20-30 min.
