Bad idea. Can you pay for repairs on this 2001 Lexus? What happens if its transmission goes, can you fund that? Sure they're "reliable", but anything mechanical can have issues.
My car is getting old, and the older it gets, the lower the value will go.
Barely. A 93 accord is worth hardly anything anyway. Each year you drive it it will lose value slower than a 2001 Lexus and that is an indisputable fact above dissenting viewpoints.

Be realistic. Get the nice car when you can afford it; i.e. after college when you have a real job.

BTW, epic lols thinking you can get $3500 for a 93 accord with 209k miles. Unless you find a special olympian in the market for a car, forget it. Just forget anything in that ballpark right now.

Good luck with that. Kelly Blue Book isn't anywhere near accurate. Pretty much any car dealer will sell most used cars well under blue book. Private party sales are usually significantly lower.

The only way you'll get that much is if you find someone that doesn't know what they're doing.

BTW, for your car for a private party sale I'm seeing its value top out at $2,785 for excellent condition, which its not. If its burning oil it is at best fair which is less than $2k. I'd still be surprised if you got even that.

KBB value

Just for a reference OP, the trade in value on my sis' 2002 Audi A4 1.8T with 114k miles was $4000.

Yikes. My 2000 Maxima with 125k miles I wouldn't get that much. Private I could get $5000-5500, but no more.

Dealer trade in that 93 accord is a sub $1k car. Private party somewhere between 1000 and 2000 would be my guess, likely on the low end.

Trade in value is always horrible. That is ridiculous.

I had posted my car up for sale earlier, for $3900. People were willing to pay $3500.

lol

If someone is willing to pay $3500 for an Accord with 209k on it, burns oil, and has had an accident that apparently did something bad to it they are absolutely nuts.

You can list it for whatever you want but don't be surprised when people start low balling you.

Yea I don't see anyone paying that much for an accord that old, with that many miles, and with problems.
