I went 3 weeks ago and they had 5 base models

today they still have the same 5 base models

nobody wants an infiniti, I don't know why the cars are amazing, and aesthetically the nicest out there.. best horsepower in it's class.. and an amazing price

but the incentives are always big and sales fell like 45% in the past year.

Infiniti never got rolling like Lexus. It's the best deal in luxury I think other than a year old towncar for about 20K with no miles to speak of. But you kids don't appreciate a car like that.

I'm going to sell my old car for about $24,000 and pay off my new car with cash as soon as my old car sells so I'm looking for the best up front incentives. $2-3g is a lot of money on a $30,000 car.

I got a new internet quote from another dude at my infiniti dealer offering me $29,000+++

my current sales guy stands firm at $29,500+++

He works like 6 days a week and the day he's off I can't make it to the dealership

how can I buy this car from the internet rep who's giving me a better deal, without bumping into my current sales guy who's not trying to get me the best deal

I'd tell him "hey i'm working with this guy too trying to get the best deal anyway possible" but I don't want them to know that I'm a "double agent"

I gave the internet rep a fake name/email/diff skype # because when i use my real name they forward it to my current rep lol

That's going to end badly.

I finally folded for $29,000+++

I went to another dealership but they wouldn't go less than $30,000+++ and it wasn't the color i wanted so I went back again.. 8 hrs later I finally have my new g37 in black/stone!

I wanted to just leave and wait until the 4th, that's when the new incentives start happening but my dealership sold 5 cars in teh 3 hours I was there so why risk someone buying one of the last few base models to save a few $$$... Considering they had dozens of g37 sedans and coupes with prem/nav and sports package... MSRP $40-$42,000 they offered me for $31-33,000+++ making the savings huge even though I don't need any of that crap and I would still end up paying more for stuff I don't need or want in the end anyway (blue tooth, navigation, heated seats/mirrors,etc.) Even though I save more.. I still spend more.. if that makes sense... and that's not cool

If I could have bought a model without moonroof I probably would have but all they had left were Journeys w/moonroof and it didn't look like I would get any better than $29,000+++ and it doesn't look like the dealers in my area desperate for my business.

the only problem is at nite i can see all the swirlies on black. I guess they did a bad job waxing it or something.
mods: can you change my username to newg37?

With a new car you should not have swirls. The did a bad detail job.
Look here http://www.autopia.org/forum/car-detailing/126066-possible-eliminate-swirls-pc.html

yeah the detailing job was probably rushed or maybe not waxed at all only rinsed w/hose and wiped with cloth

my salesman said to bring it back when i have some time they'll detail it again, I'd rather try to do it myself though.

In demand? What is he buying? A Prius? There's very few cars made that are "in demand" right now.

Hell, my local Nissan dealership has 2 GT-R's sitting on their showroom floor.

Really, try buying a 2010 Honda Pilot EX-L in my market. Or Honda Odyssey Touring.

There are three great lies:
1) -
2) -
3) A merchant saying at the price he's offering, he's losing money

..Unless said item is a loss-leader.

I know the Walgreens I worked at in high-school used to lose money (about $0.25) on every gallon of milk we sold. I also know that the only way we lost money was on the people who walked in and bought a gallon of milk and absolutely nothing else. I also know that this happened at most 1/5th of the time.

In the auto world, loss leaders are cars that no one would buy....like Corollas with stick shift and no air conditioning.
