Perhaps you should also read what HESDog said. I saw no reference to the speed he considers excessively fast, or to someone speeding through a toll plaza. I would imagine that a speed which is excessively fast is fast at any speed limit. 100 is excessively fast in a 70 MPH zone and a 15 MPH zone. The greater point of my comment is to express concern at anyone who could suggest death to anyone who speeds. I'm sure such words would bring comfort to anyone whose father this may have been, especially if this crash was not able to be reasonably prevented due to a medical condition.

Time to hop on my motorcycle and ride home; I hope not at an excessive speed though, as then I'd deserve death.

I figured my sarcastic comment would stir up some folks. Yes, it is sad that someone lost their life in a tragic accident. Without more details as to why the accident happened, it is just one opinion after another. My real point is that many of the media reports mention something like: "the car ran the light" or the "truck failed to stop" etc. I don?t know about you, but most cars and trucks that I see on the road have a person driving it. While it is possible to have some type of mechanical failure cause an accident, I suspect a very high percentage of the single and multi-vehicle accidents are due to some type of driver issue.

While other factors such as, weather, medical conditions or fatigue may play a role in accidents if more people used common sense (which many seem to be lacking these days) the roads might be a bit safer.
