I saw in another thread that it is possible to make a computer system for your car, and i've wanted to do such for a long time. Only one thing stumped me... how do you power everything? does the car battery have enough juice for a 250 watt psu plus monitor? what kind of mods are necessary to plug in the cpu and monitor?

thanks,

~Mark

Uh... I really don't think this belongs in FI. Perhaps you meant this for Off Topic?

I've already pm'ed a mod about it. Hopefully it will be moving to a new home shortly. :)

Say you do have the system already, try getting hold of those cheap 5" LCD screens (between $40 - $150 from what i saw last) and interface it with your system. For the very basic, you can use a DC-AC power inverter available at your local electronics store. I see quite a lot of these in BestBuy.

i have a car computer system, 366, 96mb ram, 8.4" tft screen (lcd controller). I have 2 5.6" lcd screens for 150$ shipped for each, so 300$ for both, plus a video card w/ tv out ;) PM if you're interested.
