A friend of mine is looking for a fairly inexpensive replacement head unit with cd player for a 1999 Dodge Caravan Sport.
Any suggestions of models that will fit this vehicle? Or links to sites that allow searches by make/model

Thanks

Most of the time you'll see that Dodge/Chrysler will use those huge double-sized radios. There are a couple of models at Crutchfield as well as Best-buy that will fit. Also check a dealership, EBAY, and local junk-yards. You can expect to pay $150-$350 for a replacement unit.

Alpine CDE-7870. $159 for a great HU. Watch out tho, one set of RCA out and no changer controls.

Another option is to buy a standard DIN-sized head unit (of which there are many) and a 1/2 DIN something else, like an equalizer (of which there are many). That's assuming you do need DIN-and-a-half, but the logic still applies if you need double-din.

Cheap car audio? Hahahahahahahhahahhaha....

you've confused "aftermarket" and "replacement". I think he's looking for an aftermarket unit to replace the factory head.
