I was given a car, and I'm going to redo the stereo.

I have a 4 Channel Alpine amp that only has HPF and LPF. It's either or though. I can't create a 'bandpass' crossover combo. For instance, if I wanted to power a mid driver and wanted to scoop out everything below 120hz and above 2000hz, I couldn't do that with the amp.

For the first 2 channels, I'd like to power a set of tweeters. So I need to do a HPF on it. My amp doesn't support a HPF high enough for tweeters only.

For the second 2 channels, I'd like to power a set of mids. So I need to do a LPF+HPF to take out the lows and highs.

It seems all I need is an active crossover in place between the HeadUnit, and the amp. This way I can create the bandpass filters I need on the crossover and bypass the crossovers on the amp. So would it hurt to put something like this in place?

It's cheap, but reviews say it does the job. With this, I could separate everything the way I want. I'm not going for a super HQ sound system, so as long as it doesn't hurt the signal it should be ok, right? If it works, why spend more money on something that does the same thing?

It's $50, so it seems like the least expensive alternative to buying a new amp.
