Car audio help

(Since this is regarding Hardware, I figured this was the best place to post)

To make a long story short, I have my car - 2 front speakers, 2 rear speakers, and a sub.
One crossover - two separate AMPs.

The front portion of the system works fine (audio from front two speakers), but the whole backend of the car is silent.

I've tried each AMP separatly (without the sub or crossover hooked up), and neither have been able to get even a peep out of my two rear speakers. The Power wire is good, as is the ground and remote.

As far as I know, my RCAs (for rear) are fine, but just to be sure, in all my attempts I also tried using my minidisc player w/ RCA cable as the sound source for the rear two speakers.

Again, no sound.

I took my car down to a local audio shop, and had them look over my setup quickly, and check to make sure all the wires were giving clean signals. They were.

Still no sound from my rear speakers.
What else can I try?

Do the rear speakers even work?

Also, perhaps your wiring is a little messed up at the crossover. How many pre-outs does your head unit have?

I'd have to go with the theory that the speakers are either dead or the speaker leads are bad. Check your connections to your speakers, then check them to the crossover, then to the amp itself. If that doesn't work you most likely have dead speakers.

The speakers are fine, as are the wires to them...

Also, I guess I didn't make myself clear enough earlier. When I tried with just one AMP at a time, I meant that the corssover/sub/other AMP weren't hooked up at all. (Trying to isolate my problem).

Have you taken them out of your car? Try taking them out and inject audio into them. If nothing happens, try this.....get a 9v battery and hook it up to the speaker leads. positive/+, negative/- and see if the cone moves. It should move out. Reverse the leads and it should move in. If nothing then your voice coils are fried, or the tinsle leads are bad.

Get rid of em, you don't need back speakers anyway. As soon as I get new system for my new car I'll just have 2 15s ported in the back with 2 speaks in the front getting extra power. It sounds good for me, and screw the people sittin in the back LOL.

Should point out one thing to you, back speakers will only cause your soundstage to be off. When I had a $4,500 audio system in my car I ONLY had 2 front speakers (well 4 really, 2 tweets and 2 6 1/2 woofers) and 2 subs in the back. You can tell where the instruments were when they were recorded. If you add in back speakers, you don't really have a processor which is equipped to 'handle' the delays involved and you'd have to get a nice DSP processor and some good configuration to achieve proper soundstage with 2 front and 2 rear speakers. I say ditch them. Better sound without them.

Have you played around with the sound balance? I mean with my mates one on the control unit you can switch the sub on or off and also direct the sound to specific sides and speakers. Have ou messed around with those controls? TRy them and see what happens.
