Everytime i have my music up, and there is a steady bass line, music starts to chop up and my receiver resets itself. I have 2 6x9's hooked up to my battery and 1 12in sub into an amp. Any ideas?

p.s. A 12" sub IS a thumper.

ya, lol, but i only have the best of intentions. this is all in a 79 blazer, show truck. what ground would it be, cuz it only cuts out on loud, bassy music.

I'd check the main ground from the amp(s). Does it go all the way to the battery, or is it just grounded to the chassis?

i'm not all too sure, i bought this truck nearly as is, only done some body work and added the new 6x9's.

and i don't believe the lights dim, if so what would be the cause? just something to look into...

You could temporarily run some stout wire from the amps ground to the battery negative and see if that fixes it.

It could, of course, be something else, but the symptoms you describe fit a ground problem.

Most often people will run the positive line to the battery, but only run the negative to the chassis. Most times, this is fine, unless there is a problem with the chassis to engine ground. There should be a cable between the engine and the frame; look for it. If this gets corroded, etc., you will have a weak ground. Under this condition, your system can run just fine until a large power draw, then it fuzzes out, re-starts, falls over, stops working, etc.
