Hi all I have a DVD-R/W drive and a ton of old home movies on VHS. I was wondering what card or device I could use to plug the VCR into my computer so I can copy them. Also any software if any I would need? Thank you.
You're looking for a TV capture card. Software will be bundled with it. There's tons of material out there about them. Google away. Or use the search function here even.
So I was looking at the PVR-150 I dont see the red and white rca jacks for audio. How do you get the audio from the VCR? Or do you just hook the whole VCR up through the Coax?
I've been using Plextor ConvertX models for a couple years now, for VHS-c and VHS with very good results. Had a hardware processor, but since building a X2 sold it and use the software model I picked up for under $50 after MIR. OOS and too expensive@newegg The audio issues I had with on-board realtek based audio on my older system and VHS-c, but with the hardware 24bit on my new board I haven't had any issues.
I am using a Hauppage PVR 250....works perfect for converting VHS movies. I tried a Canopus 110 (DV converter) but I had firewire issues that I couldn't resolve so I got rid of it.
