For what purpose? You know they make those bluetooth and wifi dongles that can be accessed on an apple or android device with various apps like Torque, right? They're pretty cheap on eBay now, around $5 for one that can do "most" protocols... they claim all, but many of the cheapest can't do the old J1850.

Sorry for not being precise.

I am trying to set up and use piwis2 on my Porsche.
Capturing traffic may allow me to have data to look at and understand how the software and the car interact.
There may be nothing to look at or understand but I am curious.

Thank you for helping.

I don't know what data Torque can pull over OBDII from a Porsche, but considering the low price of the dongles, many under $10, and that they're plug and play, I'd try that first. There is a free version of Torque you can try to see what it can do, before (or instead of) buying the $5 Pro version.

I don't know if you're familiar with them but they don't just pull the trouble codes, can be used for realtime info about various engine data while it's running, but I don't recall there being any logging feature in Torque (doesn't mean it's not there though).
