Welcome to the corgi club. Get a good set of combs and exercise the hell out of him. Teach him to retrieve and drop now. I've taught mine to follow my hand commands really well.

Don't let him get fat. It's easy and it fucks up their hips. It's really sad to see them like that :(

We're in the process of teaching our older corgi to fetch the younger corgi :D

We have female tri-color corgi that is around 4 months old. We also have a 6 year old black lab. The corgi is a handful. Took longer to potty train the corgi and she is very hard headed. Really loving dog though, but is just hyper all the time. We keep them entertained with daily walks and that helps.

I've started to teach him to fetch. sometimes he'll fetch it and bring it back and drop it for me but after a few throws he doesn't bring it back any more.

sometimes I can't even get him to go after the item i throw. I've got several different types of toys for him but all he seems to want to do when outside is explorer and sniff stuff. Inside he wants to chew on everything but the toys.

I have a hard time trying to get him to walk on the leash. He either wants to go in his own direction or just sits down and won't move. Usually he just sits down and won't move. Nothing is reliable in getting him to walk with me. I've tried toys and food and verbal praise but that only works some of the time, or only works for like the length of the leash and then he's sitting again.

He knows "Leave it" and "sit" pretty well though. I wish he would listen to "settle" and "down" as he can get pretty rowdy.

He's still a puppy though, only 11 weeks old this week.

Our lab loves to retrieve... the corgi has no interest. She just wants to chase the lab. She does walk very well on the leash as long as she is following the lab.
