I'm not a huge fan of the more "syrupy" taste of the black cask. But after trying a gift bottle for a while, I'm a little more used to it than I was at first.

It's main advantage being that it gets you drunk quicker then regular Captain since its 100 proof.

Also, at an xmas party I was introduced to Captan & Vernors. Hmm, I liked it. It is now a nice alternative to Capt & Coke when I need to change things up.

Most of the places I go, by the time they are done putting Captain and some ice in the glass, theres only enough room left for a splash or two of coke.

Now if you go to some college dive, ya, your gonna get a can of coke with a splash of some kind of rum in a captain bottle that may not even be captain.

I'm not a big rum drinker, but when I do have it I generally just have it with an ice cube.

for the people above, I haven't had a good opportunity to try Private Stock yet. That will probably be my next selection.

Also, is the Mount Gay Rum a spiced or traditional rum? I had Bacardi Gold and it was nasty.

Spidey is largely right. Though I don't mind it for mixing. I'd hate to mix a real rum.

Traditional, but it's freaking amazing. I think I like it better than appleton. I drink both neat all the time.

I like my tequila straight usually, but a nice rum and some diet coke is a good drinking drink.

If you are just sipping then the less additives the better usually.

My usual fuel is Mich Ultra. I can just line them up and be ok (I have had about 8 since I got home an hour and a half ago...I am slowing down though as I go. Usually the first hour is more than I drink in the next 4, tonight I am busy with BS so more drinking)
