Press Release - The Darkside Chronicles will be a sequel to the on-rails shooter The Umbrella Chronicles and star Leon and Claire. Capcom is also starting a Resident Evil "Classics" Line priced at $29.99. Remakes (Wiimakes?) of Resident Evil and Resident Evil Zero kick the series off with controls reconjigured for use with the Wii and will be released later this year.

I wonder if they'll just straight port it and control edits or try to improve the graphics for remake of ReMake on the wii.

Porting RE4 to the Wii with Wii-Waggle controls tacked on? Fine, since RE4 was a 3rd-person, always looking over the shoulder game.

RE: Remake or RE: Zero with Wii-Waggle controls? Sounds like a disaster in the making.

Of course, releasing ANYTHING for the Wii with "Wii-Waggle Controls" as a selling point sounds like a disaster. 😛

I have yet to finish REmake because it scares the shit out of me.

I'm interested in how they're going to port it to the Wii

I don't know. After having played through RE4 on the Wii many times, and then playing the demo for RE5 on Xbox... it's hard to go back to analog sticks for aiming.

Using the wiimote may make the original RE too easy though.

Problem is that the old Resident Evils had fixed camera angles depending on where you were in the room. You also could only really aim forward, up or down.

RE4 was a 3rd person over-the-shoulder game with free aiming. Big difference.

I think the old REs would be a nightmare to play with Wii-Waggle tacked on, but eh...

Yeah, but for me, one thing that added to the tension was how long and hard it took to do anything other than run away. To be honest, I don't remember what anything other than the left analog stick did on the original.
