Capacitor question

My cap is a 1.2 farad. Is their a big difference between a 1.2 and a 1.5 farad? Is a 5 farad a big difference from the 1.2 farad?

1) The difference is 0.3 farad.
2) It's a little over 4 times 1.2 farad capacitor.

A 5 farad vs a 1.2 farad is a huge difference; depending on the application 1.2 v 1.5 may be acceptable but you should put in the correct cap if possible.

No, I'm assuming it's a power resevoir cap? I dunno just exactly what your system needs are, but I suppose less capacitance = less bass, at least with headphone amps

Dude, awesome! And here I was with my 40 (I believe) picofahrad cap for a little something to connect my guitar to my mic-in.

let me dig deep into equations i haven't used in a while...

first, the capacitance, C, is = Q/V. That's charge divided by voltage. so let's say at 1 F you could hold 1 C of charge at 1 V. 1C is a hell of a lot of charge.

the most common size for capacitors is micro- or millifarads. So i'd say there is a pretty big diff between 1.2 and 1.5 and an ass ton between those and a 5F capacitor.

I lived in Texas once. LOL.

I meant for anyone whose car is on the road,
to be aware, that if the radio/music is so loud that you can not hear
car horns, sirens, it can be a problem.

Yes; when I was 18 i had the music cranked in my car too.

{Maybe thats why my hearing is not the best now?? 😉}
