Cap and Trade Dead

boomerang

The fingers are being pointed. Republicans, the Green Lobby, any likely suspect is to blame. But it's an election year and in my opinion Dingy Harry doesn't have the stomach for it.

Senate Democrats Abandon Energy Bill, Reid Cites Lack of GOP Support

Ding, dong, cap and trade is dead!

No Cap and Trade? Form Circle, Start Firing

A link from the WSJ blog. Greenies are hopping mad.

The failed presidency of Barack Obama, Part 1

Maybe now I can be relieved of the burden of knowing my energy bills won't necessarily skyrocket as our dear leader had said. If I had a swimming pool I'd turn the heater up to 80 to celebrate.

Good riddance. The very fact that the greenies mentioned the BP oil spill in the same sentence as 9/11 and the Patriot Act further shows their lunacy.

Are you certain? Perhaps he believes the EPA already has the necessary authority to enact Cap and Trade, or other such heavy taxation on energy. Do not surprise yourself to learn that if law cannot be made official, it will be made unofficial.

Yeah, I know. Some of nearly every post I make is for effect. I've also read that the intent is just to postone action on the bill until after the November elections. I know they'll be ramming through everything they can. They're actually quite close to achieving their ultimate goal right now. With a bunch of lame ducks this fall, they could have a rats nest of legislation that will take decades to unravel if it's even possible to do so. One more retirement or death on the SCOTUS and they'll be home free.

The fundamental transformation is almost complete at this point.

While cap and trade does have some merits right now is not the time. A jobs bill with some teeth would be nice...

Thank God, cap and trade is the worst idea ever. Even if you believe in doing something about global warming cap and trade is the worst way to go about it. A carbon tax is fair and easy to administrate. Cap and trade is all about who can lobby the government better for more carbon credits and takes an army of administrators to manage all of the loopholes and forms etc.

Cap and trade is not about the environment in any way shape or form and never has been. It's about making rich people richer and the global redistribution of wealth. It will have no affect on the environment whatsoever.

China surpassed the U.S. this week in power consumption.

Rest assured this is not the last we'll see of that stupid idea (cap & tax). Just like with the health care fiasco, the dems know they don't have the votes right now, they are are just maneuvering things so they can ram it through some other sneaky way.

.

It's so depressing to follow this crap, and so frightening that a lot of people think it a good idea.

Stupid people aren't hard to find. Usually, they are easy spot when they are preaching tolerance for how one group of people live while trying to force another group of people to live like them.

Nailed it. Can't think of a worse system than cap and trade.

I suspect you wouldn't know what the common good was if it hit you in the backside.

Common liberal deflection. What is more in line with common good?

Killing world economies off further and watching people starve to death? Or being arrogant enough to think that cap and trade had anything to do with the environment? I know you are anti-business (hello, post history), so this kind of uber control mechanism that you THINK would be used to further your agenda is just up your alley.

News flash : it wouldn't - it would just serve to make both sides of the issue even more pissed off.

Great news, glad that there is some hope for America's industries and an employed population that does not have to depend on unemployment checks and wealth redistribution from the government to survive.
