Well since were getting so close to release I figure it would be ncie to start talking about these chipsets. Plus I am waiting on my next purchase (ok I went ahead and pre-ordered the 9800 pro) and really want more info on the latest about these chipsets. Is anand the only one talking about these chipsets?

1) What links do you have to articles about these chipsets and 800 mhz FSB.

2) Anyone heard of / have links to manufacturers/reviewers with sneak peeks at a board with these chipsets?

3) Take some guesses on these releases

a) 875 released.
b) 865 released.
c) first MB with 875 released
d) first MB with 865 released
e) first p4 with 800mhz FSB released

and the bonus question: how far back in the line will intel retro fit chips with 800 fsb and HT

The i875 based boards will be released on April 22nd
You can pre-order the Intel mobo now from several sites.
You can details on boards from the Abit, Asus and Gigabyte sites which will be released on the 22nd as well.
There have been details posted on several other manufacturers as well.

Gigabyte - Two models. Went overboard so expect a VERY high price >$200. Ultra model has a U320 SCSI Controller. Both have multiple RAID controllers. GA-8KNXP and GA-8KNXP Ultra.
ASUS - A lot of curiousity about their A.I. overclocking utility - tell it the desired FSB and it does the rest - probably priced between the Gigabyte and Abit boards. Multiple RAID configs but not as much as Gigabyte(who does). P4C800 is the name
ABIT - looks like a great set of features and I expect it to come in at less than the Intel board which expected to be about $175. IC7-G is the model.
AOpen also has three Canterwood boards coming out. Fewer features than the others but probably a lower price as well - One model doesn't show a LAN connection - very odd.
I think only one of these boards is using the Intel CAS Gigabit controller.

AOpen has the AX4C series MAX, PRO and G.
The G has NO LAN - most mobos with G mean Gigabit, but this board has NO LAN connection.
MAX has Extra RAID and Gigabit LAN - Broadcom
PRO is the middle of the road with RAID 0 capability but no RAID 1/0 or 1 - Broadcom 10/100 LAN

No, you're thinking about VIA boards. 🙂

Well... dunno... maybe i'm haunted by the hyped-up Asus P4T533 that didn't meet expectations. Seems like its doing fine now... after a couple of revisions. Oh well... not like i can afford a canterwood anyway. 🙁

Post some links to those MB's (i am having a hard time finding any info on em) Also anyone have any educated guess about the 800 procs?

I remember reading that they will have the following processors with both HT and 800FSB... 2.4 2.6 2.8 3.0 3.2 ghz. remember reading in about them in one of the receinet aritcles on one of the tradeshows (cant remember which show... was just recently)

what im wondering is if these boards will OC at all, most boards have a lot of trouble going far passed 800fsb. Id like to see 1ghz+ fsbs, but im not thinking its gonna happen unless they did EMI optimising on the bridges.
