Cant write to CD-RW

I bought 10 Verbatim CD-RW's whiuch are for writing on between 8 and 10x. I have a Lite-On LTR 12101B which is supposed to write at 10x. It says on the cd case for high speed drives only, my cd burner doesnt bare the logo but i assume if its writes at 10x it is high speed am i right? Whenever i try to write to it it tells me there is no cd in the drive (Using nero and windows media player) and also when writing data. Yet the cd is seen as blank in computer management and Nero Drive tester. I have tried erasing these cd's and still no luck. Do they need formatting or anything?

Thanks

I haven't used CDRWs in years, but when i did, you use to need to format the CDRWs before you could use them. Maybe this is the case here?

There's a firmware file available at Liteon's site for your drive. It's fairly old, but it might be newer than what you've got. Maybe it'll do something.

I've never heard about formatting CD-RW's. Maybe just try doing a full erase of the disc?

Installed the firmware upgrade, no luck. The Cd's are coming up as being in 'Raw' format . Im thinking they do need formatting but i have no idea how to. anyone know?

ok it will write data under xp going to try music in WMP

*Edit* Nero burning rom will not erase the disk but if i go through Nero smart start> Extras>Erase Disk it works.

Weird as
