Someone said it was the "long-awaited sequel to Requiem for a Dream," but I don't really see it. They both will likely be messed up movies, but not a sequel even in the loosest of terms, other than the fact that it's his "next" movie.

Yeah I don't really see the connection except for the director, the score writers, and Ellen Burstyn but right, not really a sequel haha.

Man this type of movie is right up my alley. So far the cast involved, the director, the score, the themes, time periods, ******, everything. LOL sorry I'm just excited as ****** now

Ooooh! Did you see the trivia on imdb?

Trivia: Instead of using CGI, Aronofsky chose to do the special effects for the film by using micro-photography of chemical reactions on tiny petri dishes. He has said that CGI would take away from the timeliness of the film and that he wants the film to stand the test of time.

Yeah I saw that... there's a Wikipedia entry on it too. Now I'm giddy as a schoolgirl.

Garghh... I hate you OP. I was doing extremely well at repressing all knowledge of this film. That is the only way I won't die of impatience waiting for it to come out. Now you have triggered the opening of the impatience vault and it will take me weeks to forget this movie exists. Grrrr.

How do you do it man?

I've been checking IMDB for this movie at least once a week for the last several years. When I heard It was being put on the back burner because someone wanted to do a Batman movie instead, I was pretty upset.

My expectations are through the roof for this movie, if it's anywhere close to as good as what I am hoping for then I will be ecstatic.

I invested all my energy into other movies that didn't look quite as good but still good. e.g. A Scanner Darkly, I spent a good deal of effort thinking about that one. Fortunately it was an oustanding film.

I am not going to watch the trailer. I want to see this movie without having any idea about it except what the poster says.

But I did notice that a Swedish Post-Rock is on the Background Score. Wow! Post-Rock is like Sigur Ros, right? That should be an aural feast!
