I decided I am sick of all the fan noise out of my XP 2200 so I am going water cooling.
Firstly I was surprised it wasn't much more expensive and then how easy it is to get many
of the parts at local stores to save money.
I bought a Spir@l water block, chevy camaro heater core, maxi-jet 1200 pump, tygon tubing and other
little things like barbs etc... Since I didn't go cheap on the water block or tubing this will run me
around $150. I could have gotten it for under a $100 if I bought lesser parts, but I decided not to.
The new fan will do 115cfm, but it's a 172mm fan, thus much quieter then a 120 or 80 would be at the same
speed. I can even slow it down a bit if it's still too loud.
I hope to be able to kill all 6 fans in my case. One of which is a 50 CFM loud one.
Worse case is I get a stronger pump and put all my cooling in the closet.
Modding is such fun.
