Musical guest is Don Henley. Oh, and considering Triumph is a Robert Smigel creation, and Conan, SNL, and Smigel are "all in the family," I don't doubt he will make an appearance. I just hope Smigel doesn't overshadow. Conan is rock.

never found him too funny - he's ok funny.
he needs more jokes instead of just 3 at the start.
his chubby sidekick wasn't too funny either.
and neither was max-weinberg.
Jay Leno is funnier.
and the SNL cast is funny too.
nonetheless, thanks for the info... i think it'll be pretty funny this week since Conan is a comic/comedian.
 
Conan used to write for SNL, I think. I know he did write some classic simpsons episodes.

then explain why leno is on during late nite and conan is late late night when more ppl are asleep?

it's gotta be becuz he's less funny, therefore he will attract less viewers, lower ratings, and NBC will go bankrupt. 😛

dunno, just that me and most of the people i know don't find him funny. guess we have different tastes.
 
I haven't really enjoyed the new SNL's.. just don't find them as funny as the old one's. I wish they would replay the ones with Akaroyd, Chase, Murphy, etc. now those were halarious.
 
psteng19, I'm actually glad that Conan is on at the time that he's on, otherwise, he wouldn't be as funny because there are certain things you can and cannot do at various time slots. His, happens to be late at night, when few people are watching, thus, he can get away with more.

Leno got the job (despite the Letterman controversy) because he was always subbing for Carson. Back then, Conan had never hosted a late night show, so it'd be risky to put him in a prime slot.
 
ok cool... and the larson stuff, letterman controversy was before my time, so i dunno what happend there... maybe that could be it.

You have to dig deeper than that. Your conclusion based simply on one factor - time - is far too simplistic.

IMO, Leno is funny ... but i'd rather watch Conan. Leno can be funnier if he was on later like Conan. The later time slot allows Conan to work his humor for the late night crowd with funnier and more edgy/weird material. Leno is on earlier to catch a greater section of the audience - from kids to senior citizens and all that fall in between. It's all about catching an audience and ratings.

Conan won't appeal to that crowd - he appeals to more cerebral adults that can stay up later. Leno is more upfront simple humor which appeals to everybody with some complex jokes here and there thrown in to appease the older crowd that do tune into Leno.

The same analogy can be made with "cartoons".

What do you see on tv right after 3pm in the afternoon? Cartoons for kids. Maybe DragonBall Z.

However, you sure as heck won't see Todd McFarlane's Spawn right after school. It's on late night. Why? Because it's for a different audience. For adults.

Now, by your logic you would say that the kids cartoons must be better because it's on during a "better" time slot. True? False?

Do you see the error of your logic?

Of course, if you are a 10 years old you would say that afterschool cartoon programming rocks the house. If you were an adult then you would rather watch Spawn any day of the week.

 
all leno does is reflect the day in news. he's basically commenting on current events. conan is much more creative and innovative

conan on snl should be interesting... hopefully snl will be funny for the first time this season...
