Can't use some file sharing programs lately

I haven't had any luck getting on Limewire the past few weeks or so. I don't use it often, but every time I've tried it in the last 3 weeks it hasn't worked right. Before I would find a file I want to download (which was heavily shared by many different sourced btw) and it wouldn't download no matter how long I left it on. Trying to download other versions of the file also came with the same results. Now in the last week or so I haven't been able to connect to limewire at all. Tried opening ports and everything. I rarely use these kinds of programs, so I don't know what's popular now, but I downloaded Morpheus and got the same exact result, I'm guessing Morph and Limewire and somehow related since I had very similar problems.

95% of the time I use bittorrent to download/share stuff, and I don't even do that often, but here and there I'm looking for a rare file or something small that normally comes in a large package at torrent sites. That's when Limewire used to come in handy. I'm thinking maybe my ISP blocked me from Limewire and those kinds of programs, but then it seems like they would of also probably blocked bittorrent as well, and BT still works good as ever.

Anyways...way too much information. What other program(s) should I test out? I'm probably just being paranoid. Are ISPs blocking file sharing stuff a lot recently?

Thanks for reading my TOLP (thinking out loud post...clever eh?).

When I left california and moved to oregon, I kept the same computers and router. Got online with a new ISP and noticed that everything worked great except for DC++.
Changed a bunch of setting and nothing fixed it.
Removed the router and went straight to the computer.
No dice. Web and everything else worked fine, just not DC++.
I cant explain it. I tried different ports including the ports regularily assigned to known good activities.
Again, no worky.

Even tried a couple other file-sharing services that I dont like, still no good.

I'd like to know the same thing. I'm having problems too. Even when it did work it's always so sparse.

Man I miss the days of napter. Not just for the insane amount of files. You could even find any obscere file or song you wanted and someone had it. But I also miss the whole community a lot.

DC++ works for me. Except for the default hublist url didn't work. Likely closed down sites from the FBI.

The only non-torrent app that I have installed is Shareaza. A while back I found a site that listed P2P software that was not compromised, and this was the most prevalent of the ones listed.

It's not bad, I don't use it much but when I am looking for an obscure file, sometimes I can find it using Shareaza.
